Warth-Schröcken mountain paradise is the perfect place for unforgettable peak experiences – for example at the German-Austrian border.
The striking "Geißhorn" (2,367m) and the popular "Biberkopf" (2,599m) appeal mainly through their geographic position – they are situated exactly on the German-Austrian border, between Bavaria and Vorarlberg.
The Geißhorn is a good choice for all people who want to achieve a unique peak experience in a less exhausting way. Already while ascending to the Walser Geißhorn, you can enjoy an amazing view on the Tannheimer Mountains. After reaching the foot of the mountain, the path takes you along the ridge and through steep serpentines up to the summit – an impressing mountain tour for a sunny autumn day! From the top of the mountain you can enjoy a magnificent panorama on the Small Walser Valley, on the Allgäuer divide, the Hochtannberg and the Arlberg. Up here, it is likely that you'll meet some other border crosser such as a chamois or an Alpine ibex.
The well-known Biberkopf is the most southern peak of Germany. It is 2,599m high and therefore only recommended for skilled and experienced alpinists. But the magnificent view from the top compensates for all difficult and exhausting passages. Due to its exposed position, you'll enjoy a wonderful view on the Zugspitze, Wildspitze and the Bernina group.
On the "Heiterberg" – following the tracks of former smugglers!
From the Hochtannberg pass, via the Höfergrat ridge and on the Höferspitze - roped up on the rope of your mountain guide you will feel confident and overwhelmed by the magnificent view!
In our outdoor centre we offer guided mountain and hiking tours every week. These tours are free for guests of Warth and Schröcken with the Active-Inclusive-Card or the Bregenzerwald card. Our tours will suit every taste and accompanied by an experienced guide you'll discover the alpine world more intensely than ever before.
Beside others, we offer tours to the Biberkopf, the Wartherhorn, the Mohnenfluh, the Heiterberg and the Braunarl, with 2,649m the highest peak of the Bregenz forest.
