The picturesque Körbersee lake is situated southeast of the Hochtannberg pass.
The Körbersee lake is not only an oasis of calm and tranquility for us people, but also a protected area for all kinds of animals and plants. It is situated within a nature reserve at 1600m and can only be reached by foot.
It only takes 45 minutes to reach the Körbersee lake from the Hochtannberg pass – the ideal hiking tour for families with children.
The Körbersee lake is a small lake with an area of 5 hectare and due to its variety of plants the surrounding area was declared a nature reserve in 1958. The lake is surrounded by impressive summits such as the Mohnenfluh and the Juppenspitze. Visitors can enjoy an unforgettable scenery and – especially in July and August – an extremely rich alpine flora (e.g. alpine roses). Near the Körbersee lake you will find a few alps that are farmed during summer.
Since this area is a nature reserve, please do not leave any waste behind and do not pick plants so that our other guests also can enjoy the beautiful landscape and its plants.
