The area surrounding the Hochtannberg nature park is not only a varied hiking area, but also an ideal terrain for allergic persons, as it is completely free of polls. A wide range of different hiking tours, from easy to more challenging ones, take nature lovers into heights, where they can discover the secret treasures of nature.
The plateau of the Hochtannberg pass in Warth-Schröcken is an area of gentle alpine pastures and offers magnificant views on the surrounding mountains such as the "Widderstein", the "Biberkopf", the "Karhorn" and the "Braunarl". A small mountain lake, the Kalbelesee, is the mirror of this unique beauty of nature. At the same time, the Hochtannberg pass presents a perfect starting point for all kind of hiking tours.
Within only 40 minutes of walk you'll find the lake Körbersee, situated directly in a nature reserve area. It can also be reached from the village of Schröcken in 1.5 hours or from Schröcken/Neßlegg in 30 minutes. Another hiking tour starts from Lech via the Aufenfeld and then to the Körbersee.
The Auenfeld was once inhabited throughout the year and is a region steeped in history, which keeps many secrets about the population of the Tannberg area. Today, numerous alps can be found along the Auenfeld and beautiful footpaths connect the Walser villages of Schröcken, Warth and Lech.

Varied topics are on the agenda: a hiking tour combined with visiting the alpmuseum, herbal hiking tour, visiting an alpine dairy, border-crossing hiking tours, around the "Karhorn group" and other historic and botanic topics. Water represents an important topic in our tours: for example, the "Walser-Wasser-Weg" footpath. That is an easy hiking tour with lots of interesting historic information. The 3-hour tour starts at the Landsteg in Schröcken, the border between the Bregenz Forest and the Hochtannberg. Then, the path leads along the Bregenzerache river, which rises in the Auenfeld and disembogues into the Rhein, to the Felle alp and to the glacial mill.
After crossing the Bregenzerache river, the path leads to the first alpine museum of Vorarlberg, the uf m Tannberg alpmuseum, next to the Batzen alp. Then, your guide will lead you to the Körbersee lake (1,675m), which invites visitors to have a rest. From there, the hiking tour leads you to the Kalbelesee lake lake at the "Hochtannberg pass" and then up to the "Simmel", a viewpoint at 1,740m.
