Round tour Krumbacher alp

This easy hiking tour starts at the top station of the Steffisalp-Express chairlift at 1,884m. The footpath leads you to the Krumbacher alp and then further on to the Hochalp hut (1,950m), where you can have a break. From the Saloberkopf (2,043m) you will enjoy an amazing view of the Auenfeld, parts of the Bregenz Forest and towards Lech. On the way back you will walk through juicy mountain meadows and past the Karhorn massif, then to the top station of the Wartherhorn-Express chairlift and return downwards to the top station of the Steffisalp-Express chairlift.

From the Hochtannberg pass to the Widderstein hut

The hiking tour starts at the old tollhouse, pass it on the right side and then walk into northeastern direction and follow the signposted footpath to the Widderstein hut. After one hour walking time you will reach the Widderstein hut (2009m), where you can have a rest. From there you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Hochtannberg, the Karhorn massif, the Mohnenfluh, and the Braunarlspitze. Then the tour leads you in western direction, passing the Widderstein and the Hochalp lake and then after 30 minutes you’ll reach the Hochalp pass (1938m). This tour is highly recommendable for families with children as it is an easy hiking tour without any difficulties. The descent takes about 45 minutes and ends at the Adler Hotel. A small side trip to the Höferspitze (2131m) is recommendable for everyone who is sure-footed and free of giddiness.

First stage: Rüfikopf top station to Zürs
Easy mountain tour from the Rüfikopf top station to Zürs, slightly sloping footpath
Walking time: approx. 2.5-3h / difference in height: approx. 50m / places to rest: Rüfikopf restaurant, Monzabon alp, Flexenhäusl

Second stage: Zürs – Zürser lake – Madlochjoch – Zug
Steep ascent to the Zürser lake and further on to the highest point of the Madlochjoch, then back down to Zug.
Walking time: 5-6h / difference in height: 750m / places to rest: Flexenhäusl, restaurants in Zug

Third stage: Zug – Balm alp – Krieger alp – Oberlech – Lech
Steep ascent from Zug through the forest to the Balm alp and then further on in the direction of the Kriegerhorn and then down to Lech.
Walking time: approx. 3.5-4h / difference in height: 600m / places to rest: restaurants in Zug, Oberlech and Lech, Krieger alp, Rud alp

Starting/end point: Lech am Arlberg (free parking in the Anger garage)
If you finish a stage in Zürs or Zug and don’t want to continue you can take the bus back to Lech.

Opening hours of the mountain railways:
Rüfikopf cable car: 8.30-17.30, every half an hour (00,30)
Oberlech cable car: 8.30-12.00 and 12.30-18.00, every 15 minutes (00, 15, 30, 45)
Petersboden chairlift: 8.30-12.05 and 12.40-17.00

 
Diedamskopf

Middle station – Breiten alp – Krüzle – top station
The tour starts at the middle station with a slight ascent, then you follow the mountainside to the Panoramabahn chairlift and then further on the Breiten alp. From there the footpath leads you to the “Krüzle”, an old pass into the Small Walser Valley and then along the ridge up to the top station.
Walking time: 2h / difference in height: 350m / places to rest: Wedelstube kiosk, Breiten alp, restaurant at the top station

Circular route on the plateau
From the top station you follow the signs and enjoy the magnificent view of “Horizon Field”, the Gottesacker plateau which is a protected karst landscape and the Allgäuer Alps. The footpath leads along the Diedams ridge. Afterwards you will reach the agricultural road that takes you back to the starting point.
