Warth is situated directly at the Warth-Schröcken ski area at 1,500m above sea level, turning it into the highest situated village in Vorarlberg. The ski area is known as the snowiest ski area in the Alps with an average of 11m of fresh natural snow every year.
When more than 100 years ago Johannes Müller, vicar of Warth, started to practice skiing secretly in the dark, he became the first skier at the Tannberg and Arlberg area. At that time people wondered about the curious tracks in the snow and they would have wondered even more if they had known how popular this sport would be one day.
Visitors appreciate the small town atmosphere and the hospitality of the people, it is their love and passion for winter sports that makes it so special. Warth distinguishes itself by high-class hotels, the charming atmosphere of its guest houses and many traditional and cosy bars, where you can enjoy a good glass of wine after an unforgettable ski day. This unique blend turns Warth into a popular destination both for young and old.
Spending your summer holidays in Warth stands for relaxation from the beginning to the very end. Its location at 1,500m above sea level turns it into an almost poll-free zone and physical activity at this altitude has many beneficial health effects.
