In winter the Hochtannberg pass turns into a snowy winter wonderland, where you can take a break from everyday life and come to rest. Up here you will find a gorgeous winter footpath in unique mountain scenery surrounded by frozen mountain lakes and snowy peaks.
The footpath starts at the Jägeralpe Hotel and then ascends to the Adler Hotel. From there you may want to make a little side-trip to the small church at the Simmel and then further on to the top. From the top you can enjoy a stunning view of Hochkrumbach, the Hochtannberg pass and the marvelous mountain scenery. Back on the regular footpath you will reach the Hochtannberg pass and the frozen Kalbelesee lake, which is probably the most photographed mountain lake of Vorarlberg. Passing the Körberkreuz cross, the path will lead you directly to the Körbersee lake, an oasis of calm, peace, and tranquility. Have a break on the sun terrace of the Körbersee Hotel, enjoy regional specialties and the unique scenery of the Körbersee nature reserve.
Total walking time from Hochkrumbach to the Körbersee lake and back again is 3-4 hours.
